I got my new lens last week and the weather was finally nice enough on the weekend to get out and take some test shots with it. My new lens is the Canon EF 70-300 IS USM I am using this lens on my Canon T1i so my actually focal length is 112mm – 480mm (1.6 Magnification). Here are a few of the resulting shots.
Well, we were supposed to get snow the other day, so I thought what a perfect time to test out my new Canon T1i doing time lapses.
I charged the battery on my T1i and on my EeePC all the way in preparation for 4 hours of snow fall.
I set the T1i in full auto thinking that would work nicely for any changes in lighting, and setup the EOS utility on my EeePC to capture 720 pictures at 20 second intervals.
Well the snow didn’t come, and I forgot about the flash in full auto, so this turned out to be a very boring 30 second video with about 10 seconds of reflected curtains, because of the flash! Oh well it was a good learning experience and I found out that I should be able to shoot for about 8 hrs using my EeePC as a intervalometer.
Well I finally got an EeePC, after leaving my old job (hooray!) I no longer had a laptop to use on the road, except for our old HP that we lovingly named “Fatty”. Since I am doing computer service work for people, having a laptop with me is a huge time saver and convenience. I didn’t want to spend more money on a laptop than I would be able to quickly recover so I thought an EeePC would be perfect. I spent lots of time on my favorite online store (it might be newegg…) looking at all of the netbooks and user reviews and decided on the EeePC 1000HE.
Hey I just wanted to give everyone a heads up about bogus e-card emails. I have been receiving emails lately that say “You’ve received a greeting postcard from a school-mate!” or “You’ve received a greeting postcard from a friend!” in the subject line. Do not click on the link in these emails! I know some of them say Hallmark.Com, but if you look at the link it will have an IP address like this one http://222.119.120.109/ or similar number. These are bogus and should just be deleted from your email! If you get a real e-card it will say who it came from and most likely be from Yahooo or similar company.
