Assetto Corsa is, in my opinion, the best racing sim available. This is the first sim that I have tried were I can actually feel like I am driving and can keep the car on the road! I just never really get a feel for the other sims I have, I always come back to AC. The other sims don’t seem to give me any sort of speed or depth perception and it feels like I am driving on ice.

This past weekend I finally jumped into online racing and it was a blast! Multiplayer is still in alpha so it has issues, and is missing a lot of features, but still, what a blast!

So if you play AC keep an eye out for me (James “ltkermit” Pinto). If you haven’t tried AC yet, you like racing, and have a wheel, then do not wait, get it now!

I honestly can’t understand why so many people seem to hate Windows 8. I have been using Windows 8 on my Dell XPS laptop since it was officially released.  It was a $15 upgrade, so I couldn’t pass it up! I must not be having the same experience as a lot of other people, because I think its awesome. I love the design, and it seems to run faster than Windows 7 did.

My main problem is the lack of the start button, which is so easily remedied by both free and paid software. If I had a touch screen on my laptop I wouldn’t even really care about the start button.

My Pros and Cons:

I have been a die hard gMail fan since back when it was invite only. I don’t even remember when that was. Lately I have been playing around with Outlook.com and I am wondering if I should switch, or at least use them both. Ever since I upgraded my laptop to Windows 8 I have been really enjoying the Windows Metro style of interface, and outlook.com emulates that interface. My reasons for considering switching really does come down to the design, I just prefer the Metro style over the gMail style.

Another reason for playing with Outlook.com was trying to find an alternative to Google Apps Free version. I use the Free Google Apps for the companies I work for, and a few clients, and it is simply amazing. One of the best benefits for my clients is the Anti-Spam. The mail service provided with web hosting is just awefull at catching spam.

All of the business that I do computer work for are very small, all less than 10 employees, and they simply do not want to spend the money on Google Apps (I am referring to my clients that are not already one gApps). So I have been looking for an alternative that I can use for them.

So far I have setup my business domain to use Outlook.com, and so far it seems to work very nicely. I even like the Outlook app for Android. I am not sure why people seem to hate on it so much, I think its great!

In case you don’t already know this, I run a small IT consulting company. By small, I mean, just me and my wife. Last week a client of mine needed to renew their AVG licenses so I thought this would be a good time to switch them over to AVG Cloud Care. If you haven’t seen AVG CloudCare I suggest you check it out. I have been a long time supporter of AVG. I feel like they have the best balance of protection, while not bogging down your computer. Not like some other companies, ahem Nort cough cough, or McA cough.

Anyway, last Friday I went on site to uninstall the old AVG 2012 and install CloudCare on their 6 PCs. The process went just fine, I thought. Monday morning I got a call from one of the employees saying that their email wouldn’t load. So I logged into CloudCare and connect to their computer, that is one of my favorite features! Once I logged in I saw this lovely message.

Well I finally got an EeePC, after leaving my old job (hooray!) I no longer had a laptop to use on the road, except for our old HP that we lovingly named “Fatty”. Since I am doing computer service work for people, having a laptop with me is a huge time saver and convenience. I didn’t want to spend more money on a laptop than I would be able to quickly recover so I thought an EeePC would be perfect. I spent lots of time on my favorite online store (it might be newegg…) looking at all of the netbooks and user reviews and decided on the EeePC 1000HE.
